HT Grell

The Hover Tank Grell was designed as an anti-frame/anti-tank combat unit. However in order to achieve this role, the designers had to limit the capabilities of the tank overall. It's Heavy Gauss Cannon has proven to be effective against distant targets, but is practically useless in closer ranges. To help the tanks survivalbilities in short range combat scenarios, it has been given multiple deflection plates to deflect incoming projectiles.
Yet, despite the limitations, the Grell has been proven as an effective artillery unit. At Colony Satris in Solar Union territories, three Grells that were being tested in the area had become the colonies defense against a surprise attack of mercenaries.
As the mercenaries approached the colony through a valley, seemingly undetected, the testing Grells, stationed along the ridgeline overlooking the valley, switched their blank test ammo with live ammunition and bombarded the intruders. Protected by the high ground and aided with their Hover Drives, the Grells managed to keep the mercenaries at range and systematically dispatched the attackers while receiving only minimal return fire. This alone convinced many skeptics about the Grells performances. As of this posting, there are talks of designing a more customizable Grell.
