Thanks man! The core you came up with is very versatile. My abundance of grey bricks gave it a military look, which I used as the concept!

Works really well with those legs of yours, too.

Next design. Little taller than I'd like but I couldn't make it shorter without pushing the legs further out than looked good. Some technique inspiration from Drazelic. I think I'll do this squad in greys and black.

Damn, that looks so good! Gotta say, you did an excellent job with color blocking. By picking different colors for different parts, you made the slightly dissonant textures look much more cohesive and intentional, very well done!

Yeah, I love doing that stuff. The legs especially really work once the "frame" is black and the armour is grey.

Thanks all! As I say I was definitely inspired by Drazelic, but I think there's enough there for it to be my own. :)

I'm definitely hitting the upper size limit, though, so I might try something smaller next.

Got a new piece I wanted to try out for torsos and so, quickly came up with this little guy. He's shorter than a landscript!

Awesome build! I definitely see the inspiration from this ImageDolphin by Aardvark17_, on Flickr.

Also maybe give these feet a try on the droid body ImageDSC01917 by zi zy, on Flickr

It might give it a slight boost in height, while maintaining the balance and stance. (Just a builders thought, either way it's sweet)

Oh! I didn't see the similarity but I've def seen that build before so must be subconscious.

I kind of like him being tiny so I may keep these feet (or replace the back claw with a minigfig hand), but those are good feet too.

BTW, I discovered this new (to me) piece that forms the core of the body, and give a good torso tilt with lots of studs: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/ca ... pon%5D#T=P

Found on this builder's twitter feed, they make amazing Gundam-inspired builds and regularly share breakdowns: https://twitter.com/amnmstm1

Oh nice, that is an excellent core piece!

A great link to study as well, thank you kindly!

Keep it up man, I look forward to your builds!

That's a solid little boy!
The use of square signs on the shoulders is clever, I wish I had some of those to experiment with, and yeah, that core piece you mentioned is definitely a fun one.

The funny thing about that is that it was a mashup build of two other frames, these here!

Yeah I bought them a while back thinking I could find a use for them, and this is the first time I've found one. I like that they're thinner than a regular plate.
