2. Planet: Gliese 581g.
Gliese is an extrasolar planet of the red dwarf star Gliese 581, 20.5 light-years from Terra in the constellation of Libra. It is the sixth planet discovered in the Gliese planetary system and the fourth in order of increasing distance from the star. It is a rocky planet with a solid surface. Because of Gliese's proximity to its parent star, it is tidally locked to Gliese. Just as Terra's Moon always presents the same face to the Terra, the length of Gliese's sidereal day precisely match's the length of its year, meaning it is permanently light on one half and permanently dark on the other half of its surface. Tidal locking also means the planet has no axial tilt and therefore no seasonality in a conventional sense. Unilluminated areas of Gliese are kept almost as hot as the day side by globally circulating winds.

Gliese is very similar to Terra, therefore it has basically all the same resources. The major resource however is Fluoresite. Fluoresite* is a self-regenerating glowing yellow mineral found in patches of Granstone* . The raw mineral is melted into a liquid and mixed with Ionized water as it cools it is fused with Hydrogen,it is then sealed in a pressurized container producing a renewable, clean burning, extended-life fuel cell ...

4. Planetary Data.
Gliese has an orbital period of 37 days, 10 orbits equals a Gliese year (337 days).

In the year SC 0227, after many years of what they called ''living in the shadow of an unjust government'' several groups of terran citizens decided it was time to find a new home.
Among these citizens was the founder of A.Yates Industrials Arlon Yates and his family,The combined groups 487 people in total devised a plan that to this day the TTA still won't comment on. Under the guise of an agricultural/mining expedition, with 7 labor frames, construction materials,terra-forming equipment, personal belongings and a 2 year supply of food, water, and medical supplies all 487 people were transited to the uninhabited planet Gliese. For the first 7 and a 1/2 months they searched for a place with a suitable landscape for urban and agricultural development at the end of the 7th month they found it.

In SC 0228 on the western portion of the planets day side, in an area roughly the size of Korea, they founded the first city-state Jiyū .They immediately started dividing the land in the outlying districts by way of a lottery system, parcels of land all the same size and pretty much the same landscape were numbered, also each citizen was randomly issued a number, all they had to do then was match their number to their parcel number and they were land owners. In the heart of the city is were you'll find the industrial sector, surrounding that are the medical facilities, educational facilities, recreational zones and consumer centers. They soon started welcoming refugees and colonists from other systems needing a place to make a new start. The rapid growth of Jiyū city soon called for expansion. 7 years later in SC 0235 the 2nd city-state Keuze was founded, it was there an excavation crew discovered the mineral Fluoresite. The mineral was sent to the AYI research facility for analysis. The scientists soon realized they could process the mineral into a clean energy source. This called for the immediate construction of processing facilities, mining companies, trading outposts and housing developments, almost over night Kueze became the fastest growing city on the planet. Word of our new found wealth spread throughout the galaxy quickly bringing all sorts off unwanted attention. One year later the UGM or the United Gliese Militia was formed in direct response to the looming threat of invasion. 3 years later in SC 0239 the independent state of Mandira ''The Holy City'' was erected, it soon filled with Ijad bonded and non-bonded religious fanatics looking for enlightenment. The governing body ,The council of three, better known as ''The Grace of God'' rule Mandira with a single mandate, '' Be one with the light or get left in the darkness''. 4 years after that in SC 0243 they founded the 3rd city-state Unigedd. This is where you will find the pirates, mercenaries, criminals, and general scum of the planet.

5. The Unified Gleise Militia or UGM.

In SC 0236 the UGM or Unified Gliese Militia was created in direct response to the increasing criminal activity, threat of invasion, and the looming military presence of the TEM and TTA.

Unfortunately, the lack of paragraph spacing makes the original post very hard for me to read. It all blends together and I can't follow it. I'd suggest editing it to make it less like one giant block of text, and more like several coherent paragraphs. As it stands now, it hurts my eyes trying to read it. ^^;

As for the logo, I really like it!Looks rather professional, really. Very nice.

So ... I cleaned it all up, generated a structure, gave it an index, did some text formatting and took your logo, rebuilt it and made it a bit more refined. Hope you like it. :)

Gliese 581 (the real one) is really exciting — not because of what little we know about it, which is neat enough, but because it makes concrete one of the variables of the Drake Equation.

A quibble: the TEMs are an expeditionary military force. They're not explorers, by any means. You probably meant TTA, but more likely, there's a corporation — I assume that's A. Yates Industrials — that holds the local transit gate that is doing this exploration.

I want to hear about who the people are here and what they want! Why have they started fighting giant robots here?

Thanks for checking it out. The real Gliese is awesome right!
So I took the TEM out of the picture, I was just trying to us the TTA as means to escape from terra using a gate is that feasible?
The people were terrans that got fed up with the tyranny of the govt. and wanted to start a new life. They went to Gliese to avoid conflict and find peace, but when they discovered the mineral Fluoresite and its resource value they soon realized they would have to fight for that peace. I am also working on some conflicts between the cities.
P.S. thanks for going easy on me I am a 40 year old high school drop out . I love sci-fi and want to take some writing classes but in the meantime this is my class :D

Hey! My wife offers writing-tutor services - I can get you guys in contact if you want, she's pretty good. And cheaper than taking a class ;).

I'm guessing that, from the phrase 'tyranny of the government' you identify as some flavor of libertarian or 'classical' liberal? (I have some points of dispute with those as ideologies, but I can set them aside for now). One place to start might be with the triad of the American Revolution, the Whiskey Rebellion, and the War of 1812. Taken together as one conflict, there's a progression from rebellion to revolutionary state to fellow Great Power that could be an interesting model. You might try Gordon Wood's Empire of Liberty: A History of the Early Republic, 1789–1815 as source to mine for ideas.

There's an interesting dichotomy there: as exiled people, they presumably started off with a unified vision. But now they're spreading out on their new colony and factionalizing. Some of them now have to create a workable government of their own, and like all political processes it's going to be filled with arguments and compromises. What happens when people who don't get what they want decide to take matters into their own hands, like the Whiskey Rebels? And how might a watching imperial power like the Solar Union try to exploit internal dissent?

You've got the start of some really good stuff in there. I encourage you to pursue it!
I worked on the setting and mecha design, but my opinions are purely personal.
