Hey there from Axhead.

Postby Axhead » Sun Apr 01, 2012 6:06 pm

Hey folks,

My real name is Jason Baldwin. I have been a gaming nerd since grade 2. In the past I was a software developer for a few .coms in Toronto and was a knight and count in the SCA, now I am beurocrat and do yoga in Edmonton. Mellowing with age I suppose.

Recently I have not been able to paint/play with minis due to a busy life and a 5 year old who keeps me from leaving my toys out. Once he started getting into lego, I picked up a copy of Mechaton (I was a DitV player for a bit) and was super excited when the MF0 kicked off a short while later. Now instead of mashing my painted minis together we can play by mashing Lego Mechs together instead, and if I leave out my creations it isn't a source of anxiety anymore.

I will be running a game of Mechaton (or MF0 if possible) at a local little Con called Mayday http://maydayconvention.com/ in about a months time, and am really looking forward to that, I just need to figure out how to get more lego without pissing off my wife too much... One more bricklink order and I am done, One more bricklink order and I am done.... I can quit anytime I want to, I just really don't want to quit yet.

Welcome aboard!

I have a friend with 8 and 10 year-old children, and they are in the perfect zone for MFZ.

I even "ordered" him a set of the rules by upping my backing.

I think MF0 is a great gate way game for kids, but it looks like it will be a blast for seasoned gamers as well. Truth be told my sons interest is really just a flimsy excuse I use because I am still coming to terms with my new addiction.

The more gaming I do the more I appreciate lean and well thought out rules. I deal with tax law for my day job, so god knows I have no interest in gaming it on my own time.
