VMW-10 Mailman

Image

Background:

The Mailman is a straight forward mobile artillery platform, relocating quickly whenever needed, waiting for firing solutions from spotter 'frames or close-range combat units. The 'Frame was built for the SU Peacekeepers on Vesopia Prime, but is also used by the Salvation Corps, albeit in fewer numbers. They only have what they could steal. The massive Groundshaker cannon delivers large-bore shells with multiple warhead variants at extreme distances, and the reinforced legs of the Mailman are needed to cushion the recoil. Otherwise unarmed (safe for two short-range anti-personell machineguns), the VMW-10 relies on speed and escort 'frames to stay operative. Luckily, through a series of suspension and calculation systems, the Mailman can fire the Groundshaker Cannon even on the move, even though the accuracy is reduced.

The name was chosen by field personell of the Peacekeepers. Initially, the 'frame had the working title "Lambda Tau", but the test pilots quickly dubbed the 'frame "Mailman", because it "delivered its package in any weather".

Preinstalled Systems:
The Mailman is pretty much just an armored transport system for the Groundshaker Cannon and is built around that task. Reducing the internal structure weight with endo-steel, double-strength muscle cylinders in the legs, a supercharged 1175hp engine and multi-layer ferro-fibrous armor all just serve to carry the cannon where it needs to be and then rain hell upon the enemy. Pilots often describe steering the VMW-10 as if they'd throw a massive weight over their shoulder and go for a jog.

This frame reminds me of the Prometheus from Metal Warriors on the SNES. I like it!

assuming the cone-cylinder thing is a person, then there doesn't seem to be enough room for a guy in the cockpit

Somehow it reminds me of in mech form :)

Really like it, that gun looks like it can dish out some serious firework :D

Only thing i would change, is the one click-hinge facing downward on the back of the gun. Seems a bit out of place to me, but that´s only my opinion.

Cheers,

Oh wow, that's a dead-on match. Hilarious. O_o

Yeah, that hinge is just a bit of textre to break things up. Maybe I'll take it out. I'll see. :D

Digging the armored cap in the cockpit and the overall profile. This thing is easy to picture in squadrons, striding into place, letting loose a coordinated salvo, and then moving away.
