Great shaping with wedge plates!
Thank you VitorFaria, I usually have a hard time using the larger wing wedge pieces but I'm glad it work out this time.
When the Viceroy class Frigate was first introduced, it was claimed to be an 'All-purpose' frigate, though this was met with skeptics. It's slightly smaller that average frigate size was seen as a disadvantage and a possible liability. Because of this reputation, the Viceroy had little chances to show its true worth.
Until one conflict changed the Viceroys bad reputation.
Outpost Zeinth in the Yeiger star system came under attack by a large Ijadhi battlefleet. The outpost was protected by a natural asteroid belt on multiple sides with a nearby transit gate as it's only entry and exit point. This made the outpost a strategically placed structure, with only a skeleton fleet of ships as additional protection. The defending vessels tried in vain to send signals for reinforcements, but the Ijad had set up a signal scrambling blanket over the entire quadrant, which rendered outgoing signals useless.
The commanding officers believed that in order to bypass the signal blackout to get a destress call out was to pass through the asteroid belt, however, the belt was far too dense for most ships to traverse safely. Captain Garry Bento, who was captain of the fleets only Viceroy Frigate, the 'MaryWeather', agreed to go, believing his ships smaller size would have better maneuvering through the deadly asteroid field. With little difficulty, the MaryWeather traversed the asteroid belt and was able to send a destress signal once it had cleared the effects of the Ijads signal jammer. Four hours later, reinforcements came from the Transit gate, pinning the Ijad force between the battle fatigued defenses of the outpost and the fresh arrivals. The Ijad force was then quickly dispatched and Captain Bento, and the whole crew of the MaryWeather would be heroically decorated for there actions.
Now Battlefleets over the Yeiger system are insisting on having at least 1 Viceroy class Frigate in their company as a precaution of any further situations that mimic the Zeinth Outpost Attack.
