armed with
-top mounted "Hail mary" missile dispenser
-frame seeking missiles
-nose mounted machine gun

This Is me trying to build a modern sized fighter in 7p scale. I noticed there are very few fighters in the forums of this size. call it "trying somthing new"

I'm not extremely happy about the nose.
C and C welcome of course

The shaping is really nice. It might just be perception but it seems a bit big. My calculations say the wingspan of an F-18 sized plane should be about 12 bricks across - what's this come in at?

the wingspan on this thing is 28 studs long.

however the fuselage is 23 studs long.
so the wings are a bit long I guess.

Hmm, what's the ratio of studs:bricks?

Ok, I measured the wingspan in bricks and it is almost exactly 25 bricks long, not far from the tomcat I see.

Speaking of the tomcat, this would look really sweet with a swept wing design. Shouldn't be too hard to implement either, just get some rotating 2x2s in there.

The scale looks as close to perfect as I can imagine. Very nice. The F-14 is my all-time favorite fighter, and I can see some resemblance here.

I love this, and it's a great scale/size. It's also subtly futuristic in a great way- the landing gear, colors, and general shape make it easy to imagine in an airport alongside current-day aircraft but it still has those wings that suggest a future advanced mobility.

It now makes me want to build an aircraft of similar configuration but with a larger fuselage cabin- a small private-type liner would make a good Station for storyline purposes.

Yeah an F-14 makes more sense size-wise. And I agree, the frames aren't as big as we think they are sometimes. I still think one fitting inside a semi-trailer crate is a bit off; a Chub stands at about 7.5 metres tall - which is about 2 storeys high - if I calculate it correctly, and I have yet to see a truck which can carry a 2-storey building in it's crate.

Well, a standard semi trailer is 13.6 feet tall, which comes to roughly 4.5 meters. That's definitely tall enough to fit a chub that was either crouched or sitting. There are also larger trailers but they require special permits, so a military semi that carries frames is totally possible too.

MittenNinja was right, this took me about 5 minutes to change. however the new wings are longer then before.

missiles also are removed untill I find abetter place to mount them.

I like the shaping until it gets to the rear. It just seems so bulky and fat for a fighter plane. That engine is gigantourmous.
