The MF-Forge has been hit by spammers, FYI.

I've reported a buch of the posts already. Hopefully Schoon logs in soon and cleanses them with fire.

I reported a couple as well right when it kicked off, but then I had to go to work, might be time to get some Moderators?

I also sent schoon a PM about it.

Having some moderators isn't a bad idea. Definitely worth looking into.

Thanks, Everyone.

I should feel complimented that they felt a need to visit. They have been cleansed.

It's a problem with most phpBB forums. I used to have it on one of the forums I ran a couple years ago. Haven't had it on my current one somehow.

Can we ban the "Reollerge" account please, it's spamming in Off Topic.

Just use the Report button where the Quote and Edit Buttons are, It flags the post for Schoon and he can take care of it.

Oh duh, thanks for that. Never had to do that before, as I've always been an admin and been able to the banning myself previously :)

Heck, if we're looking for mods, I'll volunteer to do combat patrols of the forum, sweeping for spammers.

Thank-you for the offers, Gentlemen.

There are a few more things I want to get done "under the hood" before I start adding moderators - your requests will be remembered when the time comes!

Pretty sure BrarZelfBak is a spammer too. Only has 5 posts and they all are near unintelligible run on sentences that have to do with light fixtures.

Just out of curiosity what security settings have you implemented on the forums? On my phpBB site I have both CAPTCHA and email verification set for new accounts and I find this does a good job of stopping spam accounts from being created.
