Ijad question

Postby NinjaLegendDoom » Mon Dec 14, 2015 9:17 pm

So I'm trying to keep my story as close to SC as I can... I had read somewhere that first contact with the Ijad was made in 0230. How many colonies were affected by this? I mean were they found on multiple colonies at once?

I believe they just found the Ijad home planet, and that Ijad didn't space travel all that much before that.

Humanity/the SU made first contact with the Ijad in SC 0198 when colonists unknowingly began settling the homeworld of the Ijad; this is covered in the rulebook but you can definitely dig up some more details about the Ijad by digging around the Background forum. As VictorFaria mentioned, the Ijad hadn't discovered space travel before the arrival of the colonists but have been rapidly spreading throughout the stars since seizing control of the transit gate orbiting their world.

Thank you both! So then it would make sense for a small colony of Ijad to be on a SU world in 0231.

Yes, it's entirely feasible; the Ijad would have been in control of the Celiel/Shebehu transit gate for almost two decades by that point.
