Does replacing a muscle cylinder affect Sokokunst?

Postby Grass4hopper » Fri Dec 13, 2013 12:41 am

"To enhance the cylinder training effect, professional pilots put a new frame through a series of motions to synch the actions of the frame with with the intentions of it's operation . . . Terrain Expeditionary Marines have distilled this to a doctrine call Sokokunst."
- MF0:RA Rulebook page 33

So I'm guessing yes, that you would need to condition the new cylinder, to bring it in line with the conditioning of the older cylinders. If so, that would make having you muscle cylinders damaged in battle a huge pain in the butt, since you you have to now spend time conditioning, in addition to the time spent waiting for structural repairs and installation of the new cylinder.

Does that make sense?

That's the gist! For these purposes, it's better to repair your old, worn, damaged frame than to hop into a new one!

That could lead to some interesting situations of Mechanized Therapy.

A frame pilot makes it out of a fight, but had their leg's muscle cylinder burst. They deal with some physical trauma from the fight, but they also spend time working on forms or practice sessions with the repaired frame to break in the new leg.
