Playing via MapTool (Now with Links!)

Postby ferrelferret » Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:06 pm

Hey, all.

I'm getting info on if anyone wanted to know if anyone was interested in playing in real time via MapTool.

You can find the program and information about it at RPTools.net

The Idea is to get together on MapTool and IRC, and then battle it out. I've been thinking about restarting a vent server, or starting a room on stickam.

I'd be interested but my time zone doesn't really overlap very well, so I'm going to give it a miss.

Any chance of being an observer occasionally or something?

I had no idea this existed. Thank you, ferret, for bringing this to my attention! Much like Dukayn, I'm only in the same timezone as a few other people in the MFZ community.

Sorry, all.

I was on my phone at the time when I posted this.

You can find MapTool there.

I think its a fantastic idea.

Even in radically different time zones, it should still be possible to set up mutually agreeable (if not optimal times for gaming) at least some of the time.

I've used MapTool before to play DnD. I'd be down for a game.

Well, first things first.

We'll need some players. So, like the PbP versions, First-come-first-serve on spots. There are four available atm.

You'll need Maptool version 1.3.b87. You can get it for Windows, or OS X

Once the players are chosen, I'll PM with more info.

Once we have everything set up for the game, I'll put up the info and linky-linky for spectator goodness.

I'm in.

Is this going to run live at a specific time or is it be done in more of a play by mail kind of arrangement?

Is the game going to be a battle(4-6 frames) or a skirmish(3-4 frames)?

Here is the MoF0 campaign file I was using. It should have everything you need. Let me know if there are any problems.

I would love to do this, but I would like to see how the first battle goes first. Very promising! :D
