I love this design what is the core? Do i see a Brick 1x2x2/3 with studs on sides or what is it?

Thanks. The middle part is made up of a motor brick: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/ ... P=4595#T=C

Then there are a couple of travis bricks on the aft end and one in the forward section.

That's a fun design, and it looks like it could be very easily converted into a frigate as well!

But tell me, how fast can it do the Kessel Run? ;)

Lovely Rphilo! I am liking the splashes of brick red colour.
But I'm flummoxed by how the hinge plate on the rear 'ailerons' is attached?

I think they're plugged in to those lamp-holders on the sides, but I'm not sure.

This is exactly right. The small round part of the ends of the hinge are sized perfectly to fit into the hole of the lamp holder. This works in practice but is considered an "illegal" connection, so won't work in LDD.

Very nice! It almost look like it could blow the front end off (cargo hold?) in an emergency. Wonderfull greebling all around, particularly the hinges into the lampholders.
