A new challenger approaches!

Postby Karoline Dianne » Wed May 02, 2012 2:55 pm

Hey guys, my name is Karoline, I also go by Karla. I stumbled across this awesome game through MittenNinja's Deviantart account, after seeing his amazing models on the front page. A link away and I was on the Kickstarter page, and now I'm hooked on this amazing new game.

I've already plundered my stepbrother's old bin of legos and cobbled together my first attempts at a collection of Frames. My little sister seems almost as excited about MF0 as I am, too.

After contributing to the Flickr photostream and spending all week at the edge of my seat waiting for updates, I decided to go ahead and make an account here on the Hangar. I'm glad to say I'm part of the community now, and my only regret is not finding this before the Kickstarter ended!

WH:F? D:

Salutations, oh wandering one.

May your presence add to our numbers, may your siblings pick up the banner the fallen before them dropped, may you march with us to the very end. You are now part of the flock. Peaches with you.

Yup! I have a Tzeentch Chaos Warriors army. Though most of that little snippet is a Dwarf Fortress reference.

Also, I shall destroy the peach-economy by making delicious peach cobblers for everyone! Wuahahahaha!

I play 40k too. :P

Tzeentch/Slaanesh Chaos Marines. Also got an Eldar army and some Daemons.

I have way more miniatures than I should... I also have a dwarf army, a goblin army, half a vampire counts army, some lizardmen, some regular Space Marines... And tons of other random minis for things like Mordheim and such.

I just love putting them together, which is probably why I love this lego wargame. xD

Used to play Daemonhunters before Matt Ward happened. Switched to Carcharodons when the Siege of Vraks Imperial Armor books came out.

I've fallen out of GW games lately. I still love their minis and the settings, but I really don't like where their games are going rules-wise. I haven't touched my boxes of Warhammer minis in ages.

I'm really looking forward to MF0, though. Something about it really appeals to me. Too bad there's no local gaming store nearby, or I'd already have brought my stuff up there and started introducing people to the game. All I got is a GW store... And you can't really bring non-GW games there. :/

welcome!

whereabouts in texas are you? I live in San Angelo(west, dusty) but if you've got a GW store(*shudder*) around you probably live in east/south texas, DFW, Houston/Katy, or maybe San Antonio?

Yeah, Houston's the closest city I can think of that's nearby. About an hour or two's drive away, though.

As much as I used to love the GW stores, I just don't really like playing those games anymore. And as fun as having a themed store with paintings of Space Marines everywhere is, not being able to play Magic, Warmachine, and tabletop RPGs there is kind of... Restricting. Back before I moved, I had a great local gaming store about five minutes away from my house. I could play just about anything there. Now... I'm kind of stuck. It's rather killed my social life too, since I no longer have a place to go hang out. :/

well that is no bueno, hopefully you'll be able to get some games going regardless and find some more cool kids to hang out with.

@GW: you can play DeathWatch there right*snicker* pretty sure you can't because I don't think its sold in-store.

i haven't touched GW in about 2 and a half years, traded away about 2k of guard for some WM mercs, and have been looking to sell a currently absurdly priced(if i were to build it today) SoB army for like 1/3 of its current cost. Really our local gaming scene is all Dystopian Wars, which, while occasionally fiddly, is a much better system than most GW games, plus its super cheap by comparison. I do hope to bring some Mobile Frame Zero to the table once its released, but i won't be able to get at my old old tupperware tub of Legos for building until after my wife and I move here in a few weeks.

Hey, 40kniks! I'm glad you're here! Karoline, can you link to your frames? I've fallen behind on the Flickr group. I'd love to see them.
