Oh man, those black curved slopes on the Bumblebee's "hand" area would make some sweet Chub torsos.

I actually have some. I played with them on the Dissident Pulsars, but I like the lip of the standard 2x2 curves slope to give an armored feel to the neck.

Look for them in something, though. I'll find a use for them.

Ah cool, yeah they are nice. I love the ridge down the middle, reminds me of a medieval breastplate with fluting. There's a bit of a lip on them but it doesn't look quite as good as the standard one.

2 Big Ben's for $60? Please and thank you!
~0.085/brick: 18 black travis and ALL THAT TAN :D

Looks like Toys R Us is having an online sale too. Not awesome, but might put some sets at a good per-brick-cost.

For those of you that live near a Lego store, Chima speedors are on sale "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" which ends today. They are also on sale at 20% off, which starts today. In the right combination that should bring them down to being actually affordable.

I'm not sure if this applies to all Toys'R'Us stores but, I found the Anakin's Podracer Polybag (30057) on clearance for $3.98 in the Northboro, MA store. This stacks with the BOGO50% sale that is going on right now. So that's 76 parts for $5.97 ($3.98 + $1.99), which is roughly $0.08 per part.

I saw 60002 Fire Truck, 31008 Thunder Wings, and 60017 Flatbed Truck for $15.99 each at my local BJ's this weekend. That breaks down to $0.08/piece for 60017 and 60002, and $0.07/piece for 31008. They also have Brickmaster Chima and Brickmaster Star Wars for $19.99 each.

Oh, and Kmart is running a 50% off clearance sale this week.

Toys'R'Us is featuring a 20% off Clearance coupon, good until 7-6-13.

I'm not sure if this is a Clearance deal or not but, the Northboro, MA store is running a sale on Lego games. I picked up the Hobbit game today and my "20% off Clearance" coupon worked with it. It looks like this deal is good 'til July 20th (7/20).

This isn't a Lego sale but, it's still of interest to us heretics.

Toys'R'Us is running a BOGO50% sale for Megabloks and Kre-O this week. There's also a $10 off a $50 Megabloks sale running concurrently. These both end Saturday night (7/13).

This has the potential for a really good deal on the 97113 UNSC Mantis set. My TRU has it for $34.99, which would be $52.49 for two then $42.49 after the MB discount. All that is before sales tax. The set has 443 pieces, which would be 886 for two, which converts to roughly $0.05 per piece.

I could not get those two sales to stack. My final price with store pick up and tax (in LA county CA) was ~58 that still comes out to roughly $0.65 per piece.

It works in store. It came out to $28.32 and $14.16 each for two of the Mantis sets, pre-tax.

TRU is running this sale again, ends Saturday. People interested in Kre-O should look at the "Cityville" line. There are a lot of affordable sets available in that line.

 Is that...? Yes, yes it is. 8-)

Image

I spotted this on wallofbricks.com this morning and couldn't wait to get to 'my local' after work. Wall Of Bricks has pretty much replaced the Brick Buildr site for me.

I chatted with the sales guy a bit thanking him for such an awesome brick on the wall and he let me know he was The Guy in charge of ordering for The Wall. He said the black travis popped up on the list Lego sends out to stores to order from and he jumped on it. If they aren't on The Wall at your 'local' ask for them; they're available.

While chatting he mentioned he was trying to get as many odd bricks and unusual colors as possible on The Wall and that he's updating Wall Of Brick every couple of days. I think he's doing well. I filled a second cup with this mix. (FYI: The dark 1x1 bricks are dark green, pic is crap.)

Also mentioned MFZ (both the main site and the hanger); he seemed excited.

Lesson Of The Day: always chat with the Lego Store sales guy. :)
