[AR] Light Dune Quad

Postby TheMugbearer » Sun Jan 19, 2014 2:07 pm

Dune quad is a standard mean of movement (except for the Frames) for Arid Rebels. It's speed and durability are out of competition, also it has an universal socket for different equipment.

Here's the Quad in comparison to Nomad Frame and a human figure.

Modifications

As mentioned above, Quad has ability to carry different equipment, depending on situation. Here's a few examples.

Machine gun

Standard twin-barreled machine gun. Average accuracy compensated with ability to shoot on the go. Incidentally, all weapons that are mounted on Dune Quad are designed to do so.

Missile launcher

Guided missile launcher is at the brink between weapons that are better not to be shot while moving and those that are good for shooting on the go. And still it manages to keep it's efficiency.

Flak

Fast, deadly, reliable four-barreled flak gun that is used mostly to deal with flying units, however is still good for dealing with infantry and light vehicles. Ammo-consumption though is terribly high.

Flamethrower

What could be better to use in a hot, sultry desert than a good old jet of ignited napalm?

Surveillance unit

Your regular sensor block for detecting enemies on the distance.

Radar jammer

A radio interference generator To conceal your position at least on the radar.

Electronic warfare unit

Oh, this one is interesting. Equipped with an effector, this Dune Quad is made to sabotage enemy Frame's systems, disabling it for some time. It's dish is self-adjusting due to computer tracking system.

EMP discharger

Sometimes jammer and effector are not just enough for the job. This Dune Quad may look the same, but it's actually made in such fashion that when it releases the EMP it's still able to make it's exit.

That flak cannon looks especially good.
Just the slight rotation of wheels gives the impression of an omnidirectional all-terrain suspension. Nice!

It also has it's back axle (along with some part of the frame) tiltable so it will give even more omnidirectional-ish impression. =)
