MMMIG: "I think it's time to blow this thing" Edition

Postby phayze81 » Thu Nov 30, 2017 6:00 pm

Another Month, another Monthly Mecha Making Inspiration Game! (Ignore the fact that I'm posting a little early, but I'll be busy tomorrow and I don't want to be late!)

The subject of Spike's Swordfish came up in the Discord the other day, and more than a few folks seemed to think it would be a worthwhile challenge - I'm inclined to agree, considering that I've been meaning to build one for a while now and keep forgetting....

I've included the Red Tail for extra inspiration because 1) I love it a whole bunch and 2) it'll give you a reason to come back and post more builds.

Remember: this is an INSPIRATION game, so if you're not into the Swordfish then get weird and try something else. What would a hybrid of these two things look like? Try some other fighter from Cowboy Bebop, or where ever, that lights your fire. What kind of fighter would you want to fly in a world dominated by big stompy death-bots? If Spike was a mecha pilot, what would his Ace Custom look like?

Inspiration means whatever you want it to mean, so...

3, 2, 1 - Let's jam.

Previous Threads here:

Don't be shy about posting builds to these past Editions! The Game is only "monthly" to the extent that I'm making a new thread once a month - there's no end-date for these.

Excellent! This is exactly what I'm saying with "inspiration means whatever you want"!

Shades... stop killing it so hard. Stahp.
Water is patient.
Water just waits.
Wears down the cliff tops, the mountains.
The whole of the world.
Water always wins.

Sweet! You've really nailed the shapes on this. I'm really impressed by these kinds of low-part builds. Have seen the 5 Piece MoCs group on Flickr?

I made a thing!

I'm also the first one to post a build to one of these SUPER late, so if anyone else is feeling timid about submitting late, then you no longer have any reason to. Hearts are broken, gang, so Rock n Roll!
