Holy crap, it's another Monthly Mecha Making Inspiration Game Thread!!

Sorry I'm a bit late this month - busy week, and I decided to make a last minute switcheroo after realizing that my original pick for this month was too similar to the last one. Thanks to Atavism for suggesting this one!

Enough babbling!

Remember not to let this image box in your imagination! Be a rebel and go dieselpunk with it, or Magitech, or just do something weird with the scale, or the colors or whatever. What the heck are those attachments supposed to be? I don't know! I mean it, guys, inspiration means whatever you want it to mean, so get creative and go nuts!

Here's my attempt. It was both fun and challenging to come up with that lower fin appendage

Completely overengineered and unconventional shoulders anyone?

You guys are amazing!! Not only are both of these friggin great, you put them out in record time.

Valtarshol: I don't believe in "over engineering" - those shoulders are super dope. :D

Artasid: I like how you captured the dangly lower limbs, and the red was a great choice!

I'm not super happy with how this turned out, but it did get my brain going in new directions, which I guess is a lot of the point of the exercise. I think "unconventional" kinda flew out the window on the way, though. Oh well!

Nice! That leg construction looks really interesting, and I like the way you captured the feel of it without just recreating it.

That first picture robot is weird. I not seen ones with such a bizare look. That thing on the bottom is too long for me to like.

I think Olothontors robot is best so far

Thanks! You're right about those legs, I may mess with this further but I'm definitely keeping the legs in my back pocket for other MOCs

So we had some pretty definitive builds for this early on. I thought I'd try something a bit "different." One thing that inspired me was the big huge wang-o thing sticking out the bottom of the frame, and I imagined it like a huge stalactite on something from deep space in the same vein as Zerovirus' Pyrite build. The scale didn't allow for quite as much as I would have liked, or I wasn't willing to fiddle with it long enough to figure out exactly what I wanted, but let's blame the room I had to work with.

And if you think my computer hated rendering this thing, you are so right!

I wanted to first say that the builds in this forum all look really awesome, some of them are just flat out gorgeous. This months pic definitely took us in a different direction and I like that very much. It actually inspired me to build something that, after looking at it, decided to add it to an already existing unit and give it a backstory (more to come)

Here's my contribution, hope you like it, and thanks again for making us think a little more outside the box :)

This thread is making me very happy... Such a great mix of recreations and wild riffing on the themes! Great work, all! I'm super jealous that I (still) haven't been able to get anything workable put together yet... maybe there's still hope of getting one in before the month ends?

I did it!! It's not what I had in mind (even a little bit), and it has no systems, but my pride as the organizer of this challenge wouldn't allow to me skip an entire month! :D

Great work, everyone!

I know I'm a little late in posting, but the build was actually finished before the month was out. :-)

I stayed pretty close to the original design, although I had to use a few Kre-O pieces to get it looking the way I wanted. I actually like this enough I started making a second one.

If I hadn't spent so much time building this weekend, I would have had it up sooner.

That is one of the Kre-O pieces I mentioned. The other is the mount for the missile rack.

This thing only barely fits in The Box, and even then only without equipment. Still a fun build.
