Mobile Core Bandit

Postby VitorFaria » Wed Oct 11, 2017 10:54 pm

I was experimenting with Phayze's awesome Mobile Core Mini frame, trying to use the same legs and lower torso but with a novel upper torso and arms.

After playing with it for a while, I realized Aardvark's Bandit had the upper body I was looking for all along!

Agreed. This is awesome, it looks so slick, and the transition works really well, I think the choice of a top-mounted cockpit really ties it together.
And that blue with those double slopes looks great!

Thanks, guys!

Haha, yeah! The very humanoid proportions really asked for a head or head-like cockpit! Might give another shot to the headless early concept later, thou.

This is great. Love the shapes and angles you got out of it, especially those winglets on the shoulder. The color choice for this was spot on, too.

I agree with Atavism. Love the color as well, at the same time, I am curious what that piece is that you used for the wings. From my end it looks like a minifig blade, but I can't be sure. Could we get a rear shot please?

Thanks, guys!

That's a clone piece, Artasid. In fact the whole armor are clone bricks from a single set. You can see it in the original set's head, they are probably airplane wing tips, originally.

I said this on Flickr and Discord, but it's still worth repeating that I love this frame so much! Colors, Posing, the great combo of two existing designs... It's just great!

It makes me think of the"Uglies” fighters in Star Wars novels - bits of familiar craft bolted together to make something new - but gorgeous instead of grotesque. Lots of interesting possibilities!

Thanks, Phayze!

That concept needs more love! One thing I really enjoyed about the first season of Iron Blooded Orphans was the heavy use of salvaged parts to fix Mobile Suits.

Yes! Watching their Graze Kai evolve over the first season was so great! I wish they'd done more of that.

I fully endorse Uglies and salvage parts. I love this build, and would not be surprised if you kick off a bit of a mini contest/fad of combining different frames for effect.
