PaM-38 "Ghost", PaM sketches

Postby darksyntax » Sun Apr 03, 2016 7:25 pm

A frame build challenge ala Mantiking's Single Set Challenge using only the current PaM parts (Q2 2016) that you can buy in any quantity in PaB cups. PaM topic here.

The PaM-38 Ghost: a scrambler-like quad.

d6W d6W d6G d6Rd d6Rd d8Rd d6Y d6Y (yeah, it's got 5 systems on it...)
d6W d6W d6G d6Rh d6Rh d6Y d6B d8Rr

The leg is pretty simple and can be done with lampholders on the ends instead of the clickhinges. The turret is a single stud connection, but supported by the round tiles. The turret can be reconfigured in a number of ways. You could decide to not have 4legs= d6G, but you'd need to come up with something else.

A few other sketches with the partslist.

- The black quad is just a variation on the Ghost.
- A take on my Pod designs.
- A battletech-ish chickenwalker.
- A riff on Joshua's spacemarines. I tried to build it up a bit, but it's still a little small for 7P.

Not quite as good as Q1 2016 or Q3 2015, but better than Q2 2015 and Q4 2015.

C&C solicited as always!

the ghost is really pretty! those are digital builds? can you share them?
are you planning to make them in the brick, i would really be interested to know, how stable the pinchers of the d6Rh frame are.

All of these are interesting and would be cool to see on the gaming table.

The Ghost is a really nice quad out of a simple part selection. Well done!

The pics are of brick-built frames. The pincers are pretty stable, but they are fresh bricks so they might loosen. That said, you won't be moving them much and they rest on the tops of the front legs so what little weight there is in a 1x4 double bow, it's dispersed.

Very cool quads !

This is a great base for a company as the grey hinges and white slopes can easily be included in any "light" colour scheme.

PaM-43 "Shadow"
Image
A Ghost variant using the black bows. The armored back legs ended up being a bit too parts intensive.

PaM Twank

Super simple little Twank and a generator station. Heartlake PD needs some of these.
