Artasid said it well, this frame rocks the casbah! First of all that color scheme is dynamite. Really well balanced between the grey and black base, green main color, and yellow highlights. The blue eye is a perfect contact that ties it all together. This Lockon design also has a very smooth finished look to it. That shield does give it an Egyptian feel, which only adds to the coolness. Terrific job, love it! :D

That color scheme is quite interesting, I wouldn't have thought of yellow and lime going together that well, but it looks phenomenal!
Cool use of printed parts, nice systems, and whatever those grey cylinders on the back are, I dig them.

Thanks, a lot, guys!

The yellow 1x4 printed tiles are from the N1 Starfighter from 1999 and the cylinders are meant to convey a Heavy Gear style V-engine.

How old are those 1×1s with four boxes them? I've got some white ones like that in my old collection. Yours appear to be in great shape.

So I bought a few Jovian Chronicles books and decided to give a Lockon a Pathfinder inspired look. I didn't have enough matching light-blue parts, so I gave it a white and orange, Retalliator style, color scheme.

Do you know one of the things that I love about the Lockon design? It never gets old. It just works so well, new flavors, new skins, a tweek here and there, and something new and awesome comes out. This Pathfinder inspired Lockon design does not disappoint. Always love seeing what comes next :)

Decided to try my hand at a more scouting/mobility oriented variant of the Lockon, eschewing unnecessary things like “armor” and “guns” for a set of foot-mounted boosters, a pair of, ahem, “fusion” sabers, and a comm pack mounted on the rear for sending intel back to it’s comrades. I had to make some changes to the frame because I’m strapped for parts, but it should still do somewhat well?

Awesome!

Interesting variation on it, the different limbs give it a complete new flair. I really like the comm pack, nice and compact!

Thank you!! Part of it was probably from the fact that I didn't have some of the parts of the basic frame along with just my preference for the mixel joints' better overall strength, but I tried to keep in line with the overall design of the other models. I am considering swapping out the joints around the knee/foot area with another mixel ball/socket joint for a bit better stability/strength, though.

Oooh, I wasnt sure if it was okay or not to post our own variations on this thread. Seriously this is a great design to work with, especially the Mk III, very sturdy and easy to get great poses out of. Here's some that I've been working on for a while, wound up going for more of an "Armored Core" type look.

The core frame:

I may be a little too into desert units...

Cyberkirbyv2 - very nice job :) the design does give it a lighter look which would be good for scouting. And I'm sure I speak for most in the community when I say that that posting your design of their frame on their thread is one of the greatest compliments a person can receive. Keep it up :D

I would have to third.. Sick! Very awesome design. Love the "armored core" look, I have an small affinity for desert style mechs, and these look great. Great heavy weapons design :D

I can confirm that those are, indeed, SICK!

Being more specific, those are some killer chests, and all around great armor! Loved how detailed they look while still keeping the parts count low!

Wow! Thanks for all the positive feedback!

As per request, here's a breakdown of the torso. Mechanically it really isn't anything different, just used some different plates and stuff to bulk it out a bit, but under it all its exactly the same as a regular Lockon Mk III.

I've been playing Garrison Archangel a lot lately, so I decided to make a build inspired by my main mech in the game!

The SMG is mostly something I took from Darksyntax, but backwards, and the leg structure is mostly from my previous Lockon Ravager, under all that armor.

Here it is with its ludicrously game illegal load-out:

d6Rh d6Rh d8Rh Dominus Sword
d6Rd d6Rd Sub-Machine-Gun
d6Y Head Comms Antenna
d6G Leg-Mounted Thrusters
d6B d6B Reinforced Leg Armor plating
d6W d6W
