d6Rd d6Rd Gauss Rifle
d6G Wheeled Feet
d6G Aileron Jumpjets

ZV Industries' new frame goes fast, and it looks good while doing so. The newest 'Virtue' frame model eschews complication for simplicity, but retains all the sleek angles and elegance ZV is known for. The Virtus's wheeled feet, twin shoulder-mounted aileron jets, and a comparably low center of gravity have combined to make it a popular choice for rooftop racing aficionados.

Mad genius at work again.

Really nice use of those zip line grips to simulate wheels, I've only ever been able to use the parts with some success once.

I love this forever for the very simple reason that it uses a t-ball joint waist. The fact that it looks really cool certainly helps too.

Thanks everyone.

I've been making modifications to the Virtue's torso, because I decided that the original setup was way too... inelegant. This is what I came up with.

I think I might give it some shoulder guns. Those shoulders look very bare and are in need of something cool like guns :P

Originally, I was trying to get something like the Woundwort from this design. I think I ended up making more of a Mack Knife instead though.

This is really nice, and in a scale I could see fielding to the table. Not too part-intensive. I agree with you that its strength isn't in the arms, so I'll encourage your further exploration there. Overall though it's got great shaping and the color blocking is working really well to accentuate that.

The rifle is really nice and matches well with the design. I think I prefer the flat-side variant over the one with the round tile.

I agree with Blorf, the first torso actually worked better, I think, because most of the visible bits have straight lines. I actually think making the head more rectangular or less curvy would be nice.

I have nothing to suggest for the shoulders that you probably haven't already thought of. (My go-to would be a 1x2 inverted slope.)

This is my favorite design of yours so far, largely because it is the most practical for game play. It has a nice use of the ball and socket pieces without busting the bounding box, and it has an evocative zizy style. I like both torso designs, and I think they are nice avenues to distinguish frame variants.

The first design does have its aesthetic appeal, but it wasn't as flexible; there was a 'dead zone' where the piece attached to the rounds would hit the triangular white chest armor and thus be impeded from rotating, meaning that the mech couldn't reach between its legs very easily. Version 1.2 avoids that problem. Its you guys' choice which one you prefer I guess!

For me, the 'primary' developmental version I've chosen to work further on is the Virtue 1.4, mostly featuring modified shoulders:

What can I say, I'm all about curves. It 'tastes' a bit like one of the Xenogears Chronicles X frames to me now.

Link to the LDD if anybody wants it is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/301 ... Virtue.lxf

It's got a few modified variants in it! Happy building.

your design is really awesom ! i really love all the details that you add , and i suggest that this model can have a +1 d8Rd because , he look very specialised in direct fire attack .

After bricking the torso from the lxf file, I noticed that they share the same core build as my Savages, only slicker and wider. I bricked a Virtue off of one of my Savage Fs just to see the build, with a few mods due to lacking certain key pieces.

sorry for the crappy pics, no more natural light for today, and i have no light box. [Edit] And is it just me or does the Virtue's rifle look like a chopped version of the KARASAWA laser rifle from Armored Core.

This thing looks seriously dangerous. The simple build really emphasizes the sharp lines. Great work as always.

I think I remember grasshopper suggesting using the zipline piece for dusk skates, but somehow I never imagined using them quite like you have. Might have to copy that!

A heavily armored and blocky version of the Virtue that I cooked up a week ago. The four-point foot configuration is very, very stable, and I don't think I'd have any trouble running this in an actual game.

The blade on the lance is from the 2008 generation of Bionicle sets.
