Egg Walker

Postby Mantisking » Fri Jan 17, 2014 10:46 am

I went on a bit of a building spree the other day. This is one of the results.

This is actually the second version of this frame. The first had different arms and I'll post that version a little later.

I like it. Nice simple unique design. Just enough color too.

Thanks. The only part I'm limited on is the 1x4 Hinge. I should be able to make a bunch of these fairly quick if I have to.

Do the elbows on version one pivot?

No, they're locked.

Version 2 is much better. I guess you know that though. Otherwise why build a version 2? I think a company of these guys would look great.

No, they're locked.

You could get a really cool elbow if you removed the 2 lamp holders on the back of the arm.

I had wanted to play with that V1 elbow structure a bit too. Taking out two lampholders makes it awfully fragile, keeping it with 3 seemed keep it good and stable. Tried piecing together a couple of experiment arms and put them on a chub for a company I'm working on. They'd work a little better on something with shoulders broader than the waist, but hold up pretty well at a glance.

Totes adorbs.

It's been cool to see the progression of this frame. :) I think this would be a great frame for my friend to start with, simple, but still cool. Would you mind if I recommended it to her?

I don't know why but I really enjoy those elbows, static or not.

Ignore that static comment, I just made one and it has some nice articulation. And makes a great energy weapon arm base.

Not at all.

I can't really take the credit for the design.

I thought so too. I now have three of these fully assembled and one partial. I need more 2x2 round tiles in white before I can make more.
