XF29 Old Couatl, Serpent Legion Experimental 'Frame

Image

Background:

The Serpent Legion has ingenious scientist and mechanics. They often send out experimental designs with their companies deployed in remote locations. Sometimes, they even work in concert with local talent - or local facilities produce according to Serpent Legion blueprints. The XF29a, produced by Vesopia Mechworks, is one of those designs. With superior torso armor, integrated launch bays for short-range missiles and powerfull arms, the Old Couatl is a warmachine through and through. With several hardpoints to attach augmented systems, this 'frame is exclusively used by the Serpent Legion's Rattlesnakes and accompanies Lieutenant Porterhouse' Grand Naga into battle against the Salvation Corps and other threats to SU interests. So far, results have been good.

Preinstalled Systems:
The 'frame itself has no weapon systems installed, but his 1625hp supercharged engine and thick armor provide a great base chassis. The integrated C3 slave unit allows for advanced technical warfare. Currently, most Old Couatl's simply wield "Predator" assault rifles from the same production run that equipped the ST07w Chubs in use with Peacekeepers forces on Vesopia.

Technical Schematics:
LDD File: XF29 Old Couatl, primary variant | Building Instructions. Keep in mind that the 1x4 Technic Brick is actually a Hovercraft bumper.
Warning: This 'Frame uses six Travis bricks (1x1 brick /w studs) and six pneumatic T pieces. Average total parts cost is about US$10.

Massive thanks go to Soren, who offered his "Loper" 'frame arms when I was unsure of how to approach that issue. Furthermore, shout-out to Mittens for letting me use his background in mine. Also, a heartfelt thanks to the IRC guys, for putting up with my antics and providing feedback and input. MOTORS AND BUTTS.

I'll love anything with lots of articulation. These look great!

Nice Design! Those hovercraft-bumpers sure have potential. :)

One thing though, imho the shoulder seems a bit "unprotected" in comparison to the main body.

Cheers,

It needs some pauldrons. Otherwise, I love the bricked model. The LDD was a little eh. I didn't like the parts surrounding the head, but them being laid back is way better than being straight up.

But yeah. Put some shoulder pads on this badboy and he's good to go.

I like it! It has a very industrial look, and a good, simple-looking design, but looks really well articulated. Plus, good use of the background, and I dig the name.

Yeah, sure, if you're going for the tiniest shoulderpads ever. This guys deserve some rocket pauldrons.

(It does look good though, if you're going less for the heavy hitter that I think all mechs should be.
