I bricked up the ChickenHawk with what I have available, so his arms aren't quite right due to lack of clip tiles, and he's missing an SSR due to a lack of 1x1 round bricks.

Nice! I really like the quad-pike.

Thanks. I like the pike too, it's just a bit flimsy. The binocs don't latch onto the handle very well and want to move around. I've considered trying to add some 1x1 round plates at either end to stabilise the whole thing but I haven't tried it yet, not sure if it'll even make any difference.

How about a 4733 or 47905 instead of the lightsaber handle and ringplate?

Yeah they'd probably work better, except I only have 2 Travis bricks and they're sitting in the legs on this build :)

That's just awesome.

One tiny criticism. Shouldn't the clip for the SSR be mounted horizontally, or are they vertical-launch rockets?

Check out the ChickenHawk pics above. My SSR design has a handle which clips into the vertical clip, orienting the rocket horizontally.

Need to get you a bricklink order, man. It seems like you're at that all too familiar point where your ability to create is getting inhibited by lack of parts. I too have to get an order for some travis bricks, 1x1 tiles with clip, and 1x1 taps. Maybe then I can stop butchering my frames every time I make a new one!

Yeah I do need to get on bricklink. Buying masses of Lego just doesn't get a high spot on the priority list when you have 2 kids :-)

Amen to that. I have a daughter myself, but I find if you're thrifty about it and hunt enough, you can find some great deals on LEGO parts that work for MFZ.

Apart from needing more Lego pieces so I can build more stuff, I am also looking at my first designs for the Hawk series and liking the newer legs and design features such as the shoulder pods and thinking "they'd look good on the older frames", hence the Mk.II Tomahawk.

I do tend to try and design stuff I can brick up myself, as I like to see if my digital designs are viable. That said I am starting to think I'll just make up whatever in LDD/LDraw and I can use that as a reason to buy more bricks. If I design within my current collection limitations I have no reason to buy more Lego :)
